An InBody scan is a non-invasive body composition analysis that uses patented technology to measure body fat percentage, muscle mass, and water distribution by sending electrical voltages through the body to produce impedance readings for the trunk and limbs. The InBody is used to help you track changes in your body composition over time and is a helpful tool as in helping us craft a fitness and nutrition plan custom to you. 

    • Hydrate well the day before 

    • Avoid caffeine on the day of the scan 

    • Avoid eating 3-4 hours before the scan 

    • Avoid exercising 6-12 hours before the scan 

    • Avoid wearing jewelry 

    • Avoid wearing clothing that covers your feet and hands 

    • Go barefoot 

  • An InBody scan uses bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to measure body composition by sending multiple low-level electrical currents through the body while you stand on the scanner: 

    1. Electrodes: Sensor electrodes touch different parts of your body. 

    2. Electrical currents: The scanner sends multiple electrical currents through your body at different frequencies. 

    3. Impedance readings: The scanner takes up to six impedance readings for each limb and the trunk. 

    4. Data analysis: A computer analyzes the data to create a report of your body composition.

  • InBody scans are generally considered to be highly accurate, with a margin of error of around 2–3%. They are a popular choice for fitness enthusiasts and health professionals because they provide a more detailed picture of body composition than other methods like skinfold measurements or basic scales.
